This week I was doing deadlifts and the guy a few feet away was doing the same thing, but with a difference, he was dropping the bar after every REP. He did a few sets, added more weight then did the same thing, but even louder now because of the extra weight - CRASH, CRASH, CRASH. I gave him a dirty look and he grinned back. Soon one of the gym staff came over and told him to stop.

Concentric-only deadlift is a legit thing; if you're trying to develop your explosive power for O-lifting, for example. However, I don't know why anyone would do it without using bumper plates.

Actually, I don't know why anyone would have not-bumper plates at all, but I practically live at a strength & conditioning gym so I'm (a) kinda spoiled and (b) have a slightly warped view of mainstream gyms. LOL

Damn...have seen all of those guys more than a few times at various gyms! Only problem is that most of 'em wouldn't recognize themselves if they were to see this vid....it's always the other guy without gym etiquette. I always try to not be THAT GUY. Thanks for posting.
