Besides the sports entertainment variety, the first time I saw amateur wrestling was in news clippings of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The first time I got to watch amateur wrestling was during the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia. I became a fan then, and knew at the age of 11 that this was to be my sport and have loved it ever since.
I was 13 years old and the Phys Ed teacher held a wrestling class and paired us all up. My partner was a much heavier kid and the teacher told us he wanted to see some pinning positions. He would go to each pair and try to show us. We were in the corner of the gym and there were many pairs pinning each other and took him a long time to see each couple. like Bill Parker's explanation, i got schoolboypinned by this big kid and he just sat there fullweight on my upper chest then my face and waited for ages for the Phys Ed teacher to get to us, 10-15 minutes. I had a hard on the whole time the guy was sitting on my face and from then on I always wanted to wrestle another guy who would eventually use long held facesitting pins and bully pins on me.
Definitely wrestling the kid next-door. Like the time I tried to head scissor my friend, and he flipped me over and sat on my face. Never saw it coming. Came in my pants, and I haven’t been the same ever since. Lol
An older tomboy sister who loved watching World of Sport wrestling on TV on a Saturday afternoon in the 60s and 70s just like me who then wanted to have matches afterwards.
I always really enjoy stories about peoples' first matches etc. When they fought nude for the first time and realized how exciting it was. So what was your first experience that got you "hooked." Please share here!
Wrestled constantly as a kid. What else was there to do? Ha ha. Always found it very exciting. Of course I loved pro wrestling and the first time I saw sumo and what the guys were wearing… my imagination went wild! 😁
