7/14/2019 4:12 PMGreat thread. Tradeblows presses all my buttons in his account of why fistfights, bareknuckled or gloved, turn me on so completely. What’s been great over the 30+ years I’ve been exploring these punching sessions is that my growing ability to take a real punch has not only made things hotter but has pretty much taken away any fear of getting punched. A good deal of what keeps me going & loving this stuff is that I’ve worked out ways to punch and get punched where I can sort of throw punches and eat them while keeping them both real and comparatively safe — & keeping the fighters this side of ending up in the ER. For example not hitting the eye head on but aiming a short sharp shot to the orbital bones just above & to side of eye & the upper cheek bone. Because the skin is so tight over those bones a well-aimed bare fist can quickly and gratifyingly lump it, create a black eye without damaging the eye. In this way bare fists because they can be more accurately aimed are usually safer than allout WHOMP gloved punches which often aren’t aimed anywhere near as precisely. I frankly love marking and getting marked like this although won’t do it unless agreed upon with an opponent. Ditto a fat and bloody lip - if you get off on a little blood that’s the easiest way to get it dripping. You can do it in a single punch or two. You always go for the short sharp surgically precise knuckle on lip hit - the sting of taking it has become a definite thrill to me, even if it makes drinking orange juice hurt the mouth for a few days. Those who get off on marking and getting marked not only work out relatively safe ways but discover as often as not how HARD it is to mark a man. In most cases unless you have very fine or delicate skin, you’ll certainly feel a barrage of hard shots to the face (and exhilarated by them if you’re me) but chances are you won’t be marked at all apart from maybe a little temporary reddening which. (Think of how much professional boxing you’ve watched with both men landing hard neither of whom are marked st the end of the fight.) Obviously you’re always skirting some degree of danger punching or getting punched in the face but there are ways to keep it hot and real while minimizing the likelihood of permanent damage.
